Business Development Manager – Defence

About the role

Leidos is seeking a Business Development Manager – Defence to drive growth within the UK Ministry of Defence arena. Based in Farnborough (or Whiteley) with flexible home‑working, you will lead strategic BD initiatives that support the company’s 2‑5 year growth ambition.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute business development activities to meet annual award targets.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities aligned with the UK strategy.
• Maintain senior relationships with MOD clients and position Leidos as a strategic supplier.
• Guide bid teams in shaping proposals and delivering differentiated client solutions.
• Identify, qualify and pursue opportunities that match Leidos’ strengths.
• Lead significant new‑business campaigns in the UK defence market.
• Collaborate effectively within multi‑functional teams, providing leadership and clear communication.

Required profile

• Substantial experience selling into the UK defence market.
• Existing senior client relationships within the UK MOD.
• Proven track record of driving year‑on‑year business growth and meeting targets.
• Experience winning contracts valued over £25 million.
• Deep knowledge of government procurement trends, contract awards and business development processes.
