Business Development Manager – Defence (UK)

About the role

Leidos is looking for a Business Development Manager – Defence to drive growth for its National Security and Defence division in the United Kingdom. Based in Farnborough (or Whiteley) with flexibility to work from home, you will help shape the company’s strategy and win high‑value contracts with the Ministry of Defence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead business development activities to meet annual award targets.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities for the next 2‑5 years aligned with UK strategy.
• Build and maintain senior relationships with MOD clients, positioning Leidos as a strategic supplier.
• Guide bid teams in shaping campaigns and creating differentiated client propositions.
• Identify, qualify and pursue opportunities that match Leidos strengths.
• Lead and execute major new‑business campaigns in the UK defence market.

Required profile

• Proven track record of selling into the UK defence market.
• Existing senior relationships within the UK Ministry of Defence.
• Experience delivering year‑on‑year business growth and meeting targets.
• Successful leadership of contracts valued over £25 million.
• Deep knowledge of government procurement, contract awards and current trends.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of UK defence procurement processes.
• Ability to develop strategic client propositions.
• Excellent leadership and communication within multi‑functional teams.
