Business Development Manager – Energy

About the role

Norfolk Capsey is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support a leading international law firm’s Energy/Projects practice. Working closely with senior partners, you will shape and execute strategic initiatives that deepen client relationships, raise the firm’s market profile, and drive growth across infrastructure, energy and major projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver business development strategies aligned with the firm’s growth objectives.
• Manage strategic pitches, proposals and client opportunities.
• Support key client programmes, business planning and cross‑selling initiatives.
• Deliver marketing campaigns, thought‑leadership content and profile‑raising activities.
• Lead legal directory submissions, awards, events and sponsorship initiatives.
• Provide market insight and client intelligence to inform business development activity.
• Coach and support junior business development team members, promoting collaboration and best practice.

Required profile

• Significant business development experience within legal or professional services.
• Experience supporting transactional, infrastructure or projects‑focused teams is advantageous.
• Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded with an interest in infrastructure, energy and major projects.
• Effective communicator able to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
• Proactive, organised and collaborative with experience managing multiple priorities.
