Business Development Manager – Legal Services

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead BD and marketing initiatives for our London and European practice groups within a prestigious US law firm. The role combines strategic planning, client development and cross‑selling across the firm’s UK, European and US offices.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership to shape and execute proactive business development plans.
• Identify, target and grow key client accounts across the firm’s practice areas.
• Drive cross‑selling opportunities between London, European and US teams.
• Collaborate with the global marketing communications team to raise the firm’s profile through press, publications, social media and events.
• Conduct market and client research, spotting new opportunities with the research team.
• Produce tailored marketing collateral such as pitches, presentations, attorney biographies and RFP responses.
• Manage budgeting, selection and delivery of conferences, seminars and specialist events.
• Lead directory submissions and award entries to enhance the firm’s standing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or a related specialist role within a professional services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior partners and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on opportunity spotting and market research.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
