Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Lorien is seeking a proactive Buyer to join its Filton team and support high‑profile commercial programmes. You will act as the central point for contract management, supplier relationships and cross‑functional coordination, helping to drive supply‑chain excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage contracts and supplier relationships across commercial programmes.
• Lead cross‑functional coordination with design, programme, quality and supply‑chain teams.
• Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
• Negotiate pricing and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Run the Call For Tender (CFT) process and provide strategic recommendations.
• Contribute to procurement and supply‑chain strategy development.
• Update pricing information in SAP and release Purchase Orders as required.

Required profile

• Procurement experience or strong business acumen with procurement knowledge.
• Commercial, contract or finance understanding.
• Excellent stakeholder management and internal customer focus.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills in English.
• Ability to travel occasionally for business purposes.
• Team‑player mentality with adaptability and integrity.

• SAP (basic level)

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract until August 2027 (possible extension).
• 35 hours per week, 4.5‑day flexible pattern (7 am‑7 pm).
• Hybrid work mode with 80 % onsite presence.
• Pay rate: £35.33 per hour (Umbrella) or £26.41 per hour (PAYE).
