Buying Manager – Strategic Procurement Lead

About the role

Our client, a growing UK consumer goods business, is looking for a Buying Manager to lead strategic procurement and supplier management across a broad finished‑goods portfolio. You will drive commercial value, strengthen supplier partnerships and support future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that support growth, profitability and customer requirements.
• Lead strategic sourcing, supplier selection, tender processes and contract negotiations.
• Build and manage strong relationships with key suppliers to improve cost, service, quality and innovation.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance and supply‑chain risks to ensure continuity of supply.
• Partner with product development, quality, planning and operations teams to align procurement with business objectives.
• Define procurement KPIs, manage budgets and deliver data‑driven reporting to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven procurement leadership experience within FMCG or a fast‑moving product environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering measurable cost savings.
• Excellent negotiation, supplier relationship and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Analytical, communication, leadership and influencing skills.
