Care Assistant – Days & Nights

About the role

Glenholme Senior Living's Bispham Gardens home in Blackpool is looking for a full-time Care Assistant working days and nights shifts, 33 hours per week including alternate weekends. The home cares for mature and older people with varying needs, including dementia, nursing and end-of-life care, and has 52 beds. No previous care experience is required, only the right values, compassion and willingness to learn.

Key responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Support residents with personal care and hygiene
• Assist residents with mobility around the home
• Support with medication
• Do general housework, cleaning and tidying
• Prepare meals and support residents with eating
• Encourage residents to stay active and take part in community and home-based activities
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues

Required profile

• Compassion, patience and a good sense of humour
• Great listening skills and the ability to think on your feet
• No experience required
• Enhanced DBS check required
