Catering Supervisor – College Dining Services

About the role

Plumpton College is seeking a professional, hardworking, and confident Catering Supervisor to join its busy in‑house catering team. You will help run the main college dining room, which serves three meals daily to residential students and provides lunch for staff, visitors, and conference guests.

Key responsibilities

• Support the day‑to‑day operation of the main dining room and other campus catering outlets.
• Deliver a friendly, high‑quality service to students, staff and visitors.
• Supervise cleanliness, food safety and hygiene standards across all catering areas.
• Monitor cleaning records, food temperatures, stock control and portion control.
• Assist with catering for meetings, events and functions, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Provide cover for other college catering outlets as required.
• Carry out manual handling duties as part of the role.

Required profile

• Relevant catering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Current Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar supervisory role.
• Passion for good food and high‑quality customer experience.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Outgoing, approachable, flexible and a strong team player.
