Children's Residential Support Worker – Willington

About the role

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker you will be part of a dedicated team caring for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will help them regain a sense of childhood, support their daily routines and contribute to their long‑term wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Assist young people with morning routines, school preparation and homework.
• Plan and deliver a variety of recreational activities, including games, film days and outings.
• Complete required paperwork, maintain accurate records and support administrative tasks.
• Provide emotional support during both high and low moments, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
• Participate in on‑call sleep‑ins (up to four per month) to ensure overnight safety.

Required profile

• Commitment to working with vulnerable children and young people.
• Reliability and good attendance, as attendance allowance is linked to performance.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Enthusiasm for creating positive, memorable experiences.

Required skills

• Basic literacy and numeracy for paperwork and activity planning.
• Ability to follow health and safety procedures.
