Civils Supervisor – Water Infrastructure

About the role

VEA Civils is seeking an experienced Civils Supervisor to lead site operations on clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects across South East England, South West England and London. You will coordinate teams, manage temporary works and deep excavations, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day site activities, workforce and subcontractors.
• Coordinate plant, materials and equipment on site.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
• Monitor progress and report to Site and Project Managers.
• Oversee deep excavation works and temporary works implementation.
• Carry out inspections and quality checks against project specifications.
• Maintain a positive safety culture and liaise with clients, stakeholders and suppliers.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory experience in civil engineering (Civils Supervisor, Foreperson, Ganger, etc.).
• Background on clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of deep excavation safety controls.
• Experience supervising temporary works.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational abilities.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

• SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – preferred.
• NRSWA Supervisor Street Works Qualification – preferred.
• Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) – preferred.
• EUSR SHEA Water – preferred.
• National Water Hygiene Card – preferred.
• First Aid at Work – preferred.
• Manual Handling – preferred.
• CAT & Genny Training – preferred.
