Class 1 LGV Driver – Flexible Shifts

About the role

Royal Mail is seeking Class 1 Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) drivers to join its 24‑hour logistics operation in Exeter. The role offers permanent contracts, flexible shift patterns and the chance to keep the UK’s mail network moving without overnight stays.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and transport mail between Royal Mail sites and onward delivery points.
• Drive fixed routes across the UK, adhering to schedules and safety standards.
• Load and unload the vehicle, ensuring the security of all items during transit.
• Utilise modern technology to support route planning and delivery efficiency.

Required profile

• Valid UK manual C&E licence (Class 1) with no more than six penalty points and no TT99 endorsement.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently for extended periods.
• Organised, punctual and able to meet tight timelines.
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Community‑spirited with pride in keeping the UK connected.

Required skills

• Valid Class 1 LGV licence.
