Cleaner – Part Time (16.5 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness of designated areas within the college estate, working under the supervision of the Estates and Facilities Assistant Security.

Key responsibilities

• Clean designated areas to the required standard as instructed.
• Use cleaning materials and equipment responsibly and economically.
• Follow COSHH assessments and only use college‑provided cleaning products.
• Adhere to the College’s Health & Safety at Work Policy and risk assessment procedures.
• Inspect cleaning equipment before and after use and report any faults immediately.
• Keep cleaning materials clean, stored properly when not in use, and sign in/out of work.
• Cover cleaning duties of absent colleagues as directed.
• Work additional weeks during college holiday periods when required.
• Attend meetings and complete mandatory training as scheduled.
• Provide a flexible approach to working hours during key events such as open evenings, enrolment days and exam periods.

Required profile

• Take reasonable care for personal health and safety and that of others.
• Be able to follow written policies, risk assessments and instructions.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to meet college needs.
• Work effectively under supervision of the Estates and Facilities Assistant Security.
