Client Accounts Manager – Flexible Working & Growth

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Client Accounts Manager to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Colchester. You will manage your own client portfolio, provide high‑quality advisory service and support junior staff, all within a flexible and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with a diverse range of clients, acting as their primary advisor.
• Review and sign‑off statutory year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies in line with UK regulations.
• Assess the quality of VAT returns and bookkeeping data prepared by the team.
• Oversee the preparation and review of corporation tax and self‑assessment tax returns, offering advice where needed.
• Provide general accounting and business advice, drawing on your technical expertise.
• Supervise junior staff, ensuring work quality and timely delivery.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified.
• Proven experience in an accountancy practice, including staff supervision and work review.
• Strong knowledge of UK statutory and tax compliance.
• Commercially aware with a proactive mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised with strong time‑management abilities.
