Cloud Desktop Engineer

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud Desktop Engineer to join their Modern Desktop Programme. The role will support the transformation of the desktop estate from legacy VDI platforms to cloud‑based desktop solutions, working in a hybrid London environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery and implementation of cloud desktop solutions within an enterprise environment.
• Assist the transition of users from existing VDI platforms to modern cloud desktop services.
• Analyse and improve performance, availability and scalability of desktop environments.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues across virtual desktop platforms.
• Collaborate with global teams to support deployments and ongoing service improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvements.
• Ensure desktop solutions meet security and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of IT infrastructure experience, including at least 2 years with cloud desktop or VDI technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix or similar virtual desktop solutions.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security and identity management.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell or Terraform.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and enterprise change management processes.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to work effectively in a global team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
