Commercial Account Handler

About the role

Our client, a well‑established insurance brokerage in Cheltenham, is seeking a Commercial Account Handler on a permanent basis to support its growing commercial portfolio. You will work closely with Account Executives, insurers and clients to deliver high‑quality service and drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Support Account Executives in day‑to‑day management of commercial client accounts.
• Handle client and insurer enquiries, ensuring documentation and systems remain accurate and compliant.
• Manage insurance claims from initial notification through to resolution, liaising with all parties.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers and clients, providing advice on a wide range of commercial insurance products.
• Prepare client presentations, maintain scheme management procedures and identify opportunities to support business growth.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of commercial insurance experience.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Proactive, dependable approach with solid problem‑solving skills and ability to manage a busy workload.
• CII qualification (or working towards it) is beneficial.

Required skills

• Good IT skills, with experience using SSP (insurance software) being highly advantageous.
