Commercial Agricultural Underwriter (Hybrid)

About the role

Everywhen, part of the Ardonagh Group, is recruiting an experienced Commercial/Agricultural/Motor Underwriter for its Harrogate office. The role sits in a fast-growing specialist underwriting team focused on farm risks, with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite and administer risks across new business, renewals and midterm adjustments within Delegated Underwriting Authority limits.
• Produce accurate, compliant documentation across all stages of the underwriting process.
• Follow up proactively on risks and maintain a high standard of technical decision-making.
• Develop technical skills and progress your underwriting licence and product knowledge.
• Deliver underwriting in line with the Quality Control framework and meet productivity goals.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships and contribute to business development and change initiatives.
• Ensure all activities meet group business standards, service standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Experience underwriting agricultural risks; farm underwriting experience is specifically sought.
• Cert CII preferred.
• Comprehensive specialist market and product knowledge.
• Solid understanding of the legal and regulatory insurance landscape.
• Confident communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive approach, balancing technical accuracy with commercial decision-making.
