About the role
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Air Conditioning Service and Maintenance Engineer to join B‑engineering Group. You will be responsible for delivering reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance and fault diagnostics on split and VRF air‑conditioning systems across commercial sites in the North West, with occasional travel to Yorkshire and the Midlands.
Key responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on commercial split and VRF air‑conditioning systems.
- Diagnose faults, carry out repairs and conduct performance testing, commissioning and system checks.
- Produce detailed electronic service reports and maintain accurate job records.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients and internal office teams.
- Ensure compliance with F‑Gas regulations and company health & safety policies.
- Undertake small installation projects for split air‑conditioning units as required.
- Manage workload independently across multiple client sites.
Required profile
- City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (or equivalent).
- Valid F‑Gas Category 1 certification (mandatory).
- Full UK driving licence (essential) and preferably a CSCS/ECS card.
- Proven experience servicing, fault‑finding and maintaining split and VRF systems on commercial sites.
- Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic abilities and a customer‑focused attitude.
Required skills
- Split‑type air‑conditioning systems.
- VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems.
- F‑Gas Category 1 handling.
- City & Guilds Level 2/3 Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
- Electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
- Knowledge of UK HVAC and environmental regulations.
- Experience with brands such as Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba or Panasonic.
