Commercial Contracts Manager (Defence Engineering)

About the role

Matchtech is seeking a Commercial Contracts Manager to lead contract and commercial governance across a portfolio of defence and engineering programmes. You will act as the commercial champion for project teams, supporting the delivery of complex customer programmes while driving business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with programme delivery and business objectives.
• Provide contract management expertise and commercial governance for defence and support services contracts.
• Lead negotiations, pricing activities and the preparation of commercial proposals for existing contracts and new opportunities.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, applying appropriate mitigation measures.
• Mentor and develop commercial team members, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure successful programme outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience in commercial, contracts or procurement management within a regulated industry such as defence, aerospace, engineering services or government contracting.
• Proven ability to manage complex contracts throughout their lifecycle.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of identifying improvement and growth opportunities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification.
