Commercial Property Litigation Associate

About the role

Porter Dodson is expanding its Commercial Property Litigation team and is looking for an Associate to join a high‑quality caseload of commercial property disputes. The role is hybrid and can be based in Poundbury, Taunton or Yeovil, offering a platform to develop expertise and contribute to the firm’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Handle commercial property disputes such as breach of lease, rent arrears, forfeiture and dilapidations claims.
• Manage disputes over covenants, easements, rights of way, adverse possession and party‑wall matters.
• Advise on landlord‑tenant issues, farming partnership disagreements and property ownership disputes, including TOLATA cases.
• Support business lease renewals and commercial lease negotiations.
• Contribute to business development and networking activities to grow the practice.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years post‑qualification experience in commercial property litigation.
• Ambitious, proactive and enthusiastic with strong client‑management abilities.
• Commercially aware with a proven track record in business development and networking.
• Growth‑mindset, able to see the bigger picture and build a professional profile.
• Team‑player who values collaboration and contributes positively to firm culture.
