Commercial Property Loss Adjuster

About the role

Sedgwick is looking for a Commercial Property Loss Adjuster based in London or South London. You will manage a caseload of commercial property damage claims up to £100k in value, acting as the expert guide for clients through the claims process while balancing technical investigation with customer service. The role supports business and property owners during incidents such as fire damage, water escapes, storm damage and events affecting business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate losses across a wide range of commercial premises and establish the cause and extent of damage
• Liaise with policyholders, brokers, insurers and contractors and drive claims to a successful conclusion
• Carry out site visits and then prepare detailed reports, evaluate policy coverage and quantify losses
• Provide recommendations to insurers and other stakeholders

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Ideally experience of commercial property losses and a track record of good customer service
• An existing market profile in the local area is an advantage
• Helpful, but not essential: use of Apple software such as iPads or other tablets
• Cert CILA, Dip CILA, ACILA or similar, or commitment to work towards it

Required skills

• Excellent communication with policyholders, brokers, insurers, surveyors and contractors
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including time management across multiple claims
• Ability to write clear, accurate reports with sound technical reasoning
