Community Mentor – Youth Support in High Wycombe

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Community Mentor to work with children and young people across High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and Berkshire. You will provide one‑to‑one mentoring and educational support in community settings, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve personal and academic goals.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personalised 1:1 mentoring and educational interventions tailored to each young person’s needs.
- Plan and run engaging sessions that encourage re‑engagement with education.
- Support pupils with social, emotional, behavioural, and additional learning needs (SEN, SEMH, etc.).
- Collaborate with families, schools, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
- Monitor progress, keep accurate records, and contribute to individual learning plans.
- Travel to pupils’ homes and local learning environments across Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
Required profile
- Experience in youth work, mentoring, outreach, pastoral care, or a similar setting.
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable with strong relationship‑building skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Confidence working independently while managing a varied schedule.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
