Community Staff Nurse – School Nursing

About the role

The Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking a qualified Community Staff Nurse to join its School Nursing service. You will work across community, school and home settings, promoting health and wellbeing for children, young people and families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred nursing care to children, young people and families in community, school and home environments.
• Support the School Nurse in assessing, planning and implementing evidence‑based health programmes.
• Collaborate with families, schools, multi‑agency partners and the wider health team to identify and address health needs.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical records in line with NHSGGC and NMC standards.
• Promote health improvement, prevention and early intervention to reduce health inequalities.
• Manage delegated workload effectively while contributing to team priorities.
• Participate in clinical supervision, practice development, audit and service improvement activities.

Required profile

• Registered first‑level nurse with a current NMC pin.
• Qualified nursing degree and willingness to undertake postgraduate SCPHN training.
• Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
• Strong communication skills with children, young people, families and professionals.
• Ability to work independently using initiative while contributing effectively to a team.
• Knowledge of child, family and community health issues.
