About the role
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to support a CQC‑approved home care agency operating across England and Wales. Working part‑time from home (20 hours per week), you will ensure the organisation’s practices meet CQC standards, UK legislation and internal quality requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor ongoing compliance with CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and related standards.
- Maintain inspection readiness by managing evidence, tracking legislative updates and preparing documentation for audits.
- Review, update and control company policies, compliance calendars and audit schedules.
- Conduct internal audits and spot checks of care documentation, staff records and risk assessments, and drive corrective actions.
- Verify staff documentation – training, qualifications, DBS checks and right‑to‑work files – is current.
- Support safeguarding processes, incident review and trend analysis.
- Ensure GDPR compliance, maintain data‑protection policies and flag privacy risks.
- Produce regular compliance reports, dashboards and action logs for senior management.
Required profile
- Minimum five years’ experience in compliance, quality, governance or CQC roles within the care sector.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and social care regulations, CQC inspection expectations and safeguarding protocols.
- Proven ability to conduct internal audits, manage corrective action plans and handle confidential information with integrity.
- Excellent analytical, record‑keeping and communication skills, with the capacity to work independently.
- Relevant qualification in compliance, quality management, health and social care or a related discipline (desirable).
