About the role
The Mick George Group is seeking a Concrete Plant Batcher to join its Bury St Edmunds site. You will be responsible for producing ready‑mixed concrete and screed to BS8500 standards while maintaining high levels of safety, quality and efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure all plant operations comply with health, safety, ISO, EN206 and other legal requirements.
- Operate the batching plant according to company procedures and keep the site, equipment and buildings clean and secure.
- Carry out technical testing, handle customer enquiries, process cash sales and maintain a professional image.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and minimise stock discrepancies.
- Supervise staff and drivers, manage site visitors and contractors, and promote a safety‑first culture.
- Report any non‑conformances promptly to the relevant department.
Required profile
- Strong awareness of safety practices.
- Physically fit, reliable and punctual.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to drive.
- Basic IT skills such as email and data entry (desirable).
- Knowledge of concrete products and industry processes (desirable).
- Understanding of distribution and logistics (desirable).
