Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager will lead a large on‑site team to deliver the main civil engineering package at Hinkley Point C, overseeing the construction of reinforced concrete structures and ensuring the project meets quality, safety and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Set standards and benchmarks for quality, identifying issues before work begins and implementing corrective actions.
• Apply and communicate quality processes throughout the project, drafting, reviewing and approving quality documentation.
• Sequence work and protect completed works to avoid damage and ensure a high‑quality product.
• Manage client inspections and handover processes, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Monitor productivity and cost trends, intervening when necessary to keep the project on track.
• Develop and execute the project completion strategy, monitoring progress against handover deadlines.
• Lead a direct workforce of 80+ operatives, coordinating daily activities on site.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience leading a workforce of 80+ operatives on direct‑delivery projects.
• At least 3 years experience with heavy reinforced concrete structures and 5 years overall construction industry experience.
• Trade background in carpentry, formwork or reinforcement fixing.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, “one‑team” approach.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
