Consultant in Respiratory Medicine

About the role

The Respiratory Medicine Department is expanding its service across primary and secondary care. We are seeking a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to deliver high‑quality patient care, support training, and help shape the future of the service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day clinical care in the respiratory outpatient clinic.
• Lead and supervise doctors in training, medical students and allied health professionals.
• Develop and update clinical guidelines, conduct audits and support the department’s governance agenda.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other consultants to optimise trust resources.
• Participate in teaching programmes and contribute to quality‑enhancement projects.

Required profile

• Qualified Consultant Physician with experience in respiratory medicine.
• Interest in sleep‑disorder medicine is highly desirable.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including part‑time options.
• Commitment to clinical governance, audit and continuous professional development.
