Contracts Manager – Special Works (Oxford)

About the role

The company is a respected regional main contractor seeking a Contracts Manager for its Special Works division in Oxford. You will lead a varied portfolio of construction projects, ensuring safety, quality and commercial success from pre‑construction through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Manage approximately 10 concurrent projects across Oxfordshire, each valued between £500k and £4 million.
• Lead contracts from initial review and buildability assessment through to final handover.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Monitor programme performance, cost control, risk and quality, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships and ensure consistent standards across sites.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in a main‑contracting environment, managing multiple construction schemes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams across several live sites.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction risk, logistics and resource planning.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
