Court of Protection Solicitor – Senior Role

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Court of Protection solicitor to join a highly regarded firm’s well‑established Court of Protection team in Reading. The role offers hybrid and flexible working, a salary of £85,000 plus bonus, and the chance to influence the direction of a growing team.

Key responsibilities

• Handle complex litigation and post‑settlement matters for high‑value compensation cases.
• Act as professional deputy/trustee and serve as a director of the firm’s trust corporation.
• Mentor and develop junior lawyers while contributing to the team’s strategic direction.
• Participate in business development, process improvement and wider team projects.
• Manage best‑interest decisions, statutory wills, annual reviews, investment meetings and site visits across England and Wales.

Required profile

• 5+ years PQE with significant Court of Protection experience, especially high‑value matters.
• Proven ability to manage complex property, financial and health & welfare decisions.
• Collaborative approach working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Interest in developing others and building relationships with clients and professional referrers.
