Cover Supervisor – Temporary Full‑Time (Wirral)

About the role

Academics is looking for confident, energetic individuals to work as Cover Supervisors across secondary schools in the Wirral. This entry‑level position provides paid classroom experience for those holding a university degree, sports coaching background, or youth‑work experience, helping you build a strong foundation before pursuing teacher training or a PGCE.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee secondary school classrooms during teacher absences, delivering pre‑set work and keeping pupils on task.
• Maintain classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Support pupils with immediate queries and follow school safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• University degree, higher diploma or relevant experience in coaching, mentoring or youth work.
• High confidence, adaptability and clear communication.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and ability to commute within the Wirral.

Required skills

• Behaviour management.
• Classroom leadership.
• Basic safeguarding knowledge.
