Customer and Trading Manager - Online

About the role

Sainsbury's is recruiting a Customer and Trading Manager for its online service at the Beckton store in London (E6 6JF). The role leads the online picking and delivery team and works closely with other managers to make sure the overall store delivers a good shopping experience. Online teams work early mornings, with picking usually between 04:00 and 08:00. The position is full time and permanent, with a starting salary of from £34,450 depending on experience, store size, complexity and location.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and orchestrate the delivery of an online picking and delivery team to ensure the success of the in-store online service.
• Act as a visible leader, engaging and coaching a large team of shoppers and drivers to deliver a seamless and safe experience for online and in-store customers.
• Work with other managers to ensure the overall store shopping experience succeeds.
• Manage people: performance and capability, disciplinary actions, and accurate scheduling and pay.

Required profile

• Previous line management experience in a fast-paced, operational environment.
• Track record of excellent customer service and of coaching colleagues to do the same.
• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, motivating others and keeping operations running smoothly.
• Operational leadership: able to take responsibility for store operations in the absence of more senior managers.
• Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs such as sales, availability, customer satisfaction or colleague engagement.
• Experience managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
