Customer Assistant - Carlisle Store

About the role

Sainsbury's is hiring a Customer Assistant for its Carlisle store (CA2 5TF) on a fixed-term assignment of 32 hours per week, at £13.23 per hour. The contract ends on 9 January 2027. Shifts are planned within the availability window shown and shared three weeks in advance; the window covers Sunday to Saturday from 6:00 to 16:00, with Tuesday until 14:00.

Key responsibilities

• Put customers first with thoughtful, friendly and helpful service
• Help customers wherever needed, such as filling shelves, picking orders, serving customers and selling products
• Use digital tools to do the job well and improve the customer experience
• Organise and move stock, keep shelves tidy and clean, and move heavy loads to the right store locations
• Build knowledge of products, services and promotions to recommend them confidently

Required profile

• Above the school-leaving age in your country
• Right to work in the UK
• Age 18 or over if the shift window includes work before 6:00am or after 11:00pm
• Friendly, enthusiastic about helping customers, able to thrive in a fast-paced, physical environment
• Team player, flexible and open to learning new digital tools
