About the role
As a Customer Assistant in Operations at M&S in Salisbury, you will work behind the scenes to keep the store running smoothly. The role is physically demanding and fast‑paced, requiring you to handle stock, deliveries and store upkeep during early‑morning and late‑day shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and unload deliveries, ensuring accurate stock counts.
- Re‑stock shelves and maintain a clean, organised shop floor.
- Use digital tools to track inventory and update delivery information.
- Support colleagues across different store areas, stepping in wherever needed.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities, from early morning deliveries to late‑day stock moves.
Required profile
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving stock throughout the shift.
- Flexible to work varied hours, including unsocial hours (22:00‑06:00) which attract a premium.
- Team‑oriented with a proactive, “one step ahead” attitude.
Required skills
- Confidence using digital devices and basic inventory software.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
