Customer Assistant, Team Leader (Christmas)

About the role

John Lewis is recruiting a Team Leader for its Westfield White City store in London for the Christmas period. The role is temporary, paid at £16.28 per hour, with varied full-time hours of 37.5 hours spread across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends. Working between 22:00 and 06:00 attracts night premium of £3.75 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a great customer experience so every customer has a positive interaction with a Partner.
• Ensure operational tasks are done with a heads-up approach so Partners look after customers' needs.
• Use systems, tools and resources to deploy labour to match customer and operational requirements.
• Share knowledge among Partners and with customers, and inspire and guide them.
• Deliver in-store standards: efficient recovery, visual merchandising, shop cleanliness, accurate ticketing and product availability.
• Support the shop's leadership team and collaborate with all shop areas to meet customer demand.
• Make sure all Partners work safely and legally.

Required profile

• Evidence of consistently delivering excellent customer service personally.
• Demonstrable people and leadership skills.
• Experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Strong understanding of retail and how to maximise commercial success.
• Effective stakeholder management with third parties and the wider Partnership.
• Desirable: Duty Manager training (internal Partners only).
