Customer Delivery Hub Porter Technician

About the role

As a Porter Technician in the Customer Delivery Hub you will work alongside a driver to deliver and install a range of household products. This non‑driver position focuses on high‑quality customer service, product assembly and in‑home installations while representing the John Lewis brand.

Key responsibilities

• Load the delivery vehicle with items and follow the route plan to customers' homes.
• Install TV wall mounts, integrated appliances, lighting and other products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
• Handle heavy items such as sofas, white goods, furniture and mattresses, ensuring safety and respect for the customer's home.
• Provide courteous, solution‑focused service and act as an ambassador for the brand.
• Stay up‑to‑date with new products and technologies.

Required profile

• Previous customer service experience.
• Strong verbal communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and work safely in customers' homes.

Required skills

• Installation of TV wall mounts.
• Electrical installations of integrated appliances.
• Installation and disconnection of white goods.
• Assembly of flat‑pack furniture.
