Cyber Security Lead

About the role

Babcock is looking for a Cyber Security Lead to work at its Devonport Royal Dockyard site in Plymouth. The role protects the digital systems behind key UK defence infrastructure programmes within the Defence Nuclear Enterprise, leading secure-by-design solutions that meet strict Ministry of Defence cyber security and risk assurance requirements. It is full time, 35 hours per week, and based on site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead secure-by-design assurance activities across complex programmes
• Produce technical security evidence, including risk assessments and vulnerability analysis
• Help programme teams, architects and engineers embed cyber security best practice
• Run threat modelling and cyber risk assessments using recognised frameworks
• Develop risk treatment plans and implement mitigation strategies

Required profile

• Strong experience delivering secure-by-design or cyber security assurance activities
• Proven ability to conduct threat modelling and risk assessments
• Experience influencing multidisciplinary teams including engineering and DevOps functions
• Experience in defence, government or other highly regulated environments
• Sole UK National able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance; eligibility may be affected by birthplace, nationality and residency

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 and ISO 27005
• Certifications such as CISSP or CISM are desirable
