Damp, Mould and Disrepair Team Lead

About the role

The Damp, Mould and Disrepair Team Lead will manage a dedicated team responsible for addressing damp, mould and disrepair issues in residential properties owned by a large local authority in London. This permanent role combines leadership, regulatory knowledge and stakeholder engagement to ensure safe, healthy homes for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team handling damp, mould and disrepair cases across the authority’s housing stock.
• Develop and implement strategies to identify, prioritise and resolve property concerns promptly.
• Oversee property inspections, ensuring compliance with Awaab's Law, HHSRS and other relevant regulations.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors to deliver timely repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate case records and produce regular reports for senior management.
• Engage with residents, addressing their concerns and providing clear communication on progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling legal disrepair cases, damp and mould issues within social housing.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as Awaab's Law and HHSRS.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop a high‑performing team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Awaab's Law and HHSRS regulations.
• Experience with property inspection and repair coordination.
