Data Analyst – 6 month FTC in London or Oxford

About the role

This 6‑month fixed‑term position offers a Data Analyst the chance to work on a high‑profile regulatory programme for a growing financial services organisation. You will deliver accurate, auditable data outputs that support regulatory compliance, customer outcomes and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise SQL‑based scripts and queries.
• Produce precise data extracts for operational, complaints, legal and regulatory teams.
• Refresh and manage customer populations, datasets and segmentation used across programmes.
• Support regulatory reporting and management information, ensuring timeliness and consistency.
• Create reporting dashboards that track programme performance and operational activity.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into data‑driven solutions.
• Maintain robust audit trails, documentation and version‑control processes.
• Contribute to large‑scale regulatory initiatives within a highly regulated environment.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience as a Data Analyst in financial services, banking, lending, insurance or another regulated sector.
• Advanced SQL expertise, including various JOIN types, filtering, aggregation and query optimisation.
• Proven ability to extract, transform and analyse large datasets.
• Solid understanding of data quality, governance and audit requirements.
• Experience producing management information and regulatory reporting.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical findings to non‑technical audiences.
• High attention to detail.
