Data Center Network Technician – Slough

About the role

Amazon is seeking a highly motivated Network Technician to join its data‑center networking team in Slough. You will be responsible for delivering hardware, configuration and fiber connectivity for large‑scale scaling projects across multiple data‑center locations.

Key responsibilities

• Rack, stack and cable network hardware (switches, routers, patch panels, optical distribution frames) following approved designs and safety standards.
• Execute turn‑up procedures, perform firmware upgrades and validate end‑to‑end connectivity.
• Coordinate with external vendors for equipment delivery, installation support and warranty resolution.
• Collaborate with internal Design, Capacity Planning and Operations teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain accurate deployment records, follow change‑management processes and comply with data‑center safety and environmental guidelines.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑deployment quality checks to guarantee zero‑defect handover to operations.

Required profile

• Highly autonomous and detail‑oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Significant experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in an ambiguous, collaborative environment.
