Data Engineer

About the role

Data is at the heart of Corndel, ensuring our people have the information they need to deliver exceptional learning experiences. As a Data Engineer you will design, build and run integrations and pipelines that connect key business systems using Boomi and Azure services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform and load data from source systems into our reporting environment.
• Develop and support integrations using Boomi, Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps and Azure Functions, including point‑to‑point integrations.
• Work with APIs, webhooks and file‑based transfers to move data reliably between internal and third‑party systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve integration and pipeline failures, implementing alerting and error handling.
• Drive data architecture decisions, including data modelling, layering, historisation and medallion architecture.
• Provide technical oversight of SQL development within the team.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Structured, evidence‑based approach to technical decisions and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment and communicate clearly with non‑technical colleagues.

Required skills

• Boomi integration platform.
• Azure services: Data Factory, Logic Apps, Azure Functions.
• REST APIs, JSON, XML.
• Data architecture experience, including medallion (bronze, silver, gold) and Microsoft Fabric.
• Azure DevOps and CI/CD for data solutions.
• SQL development and code review.
