About the role
Monzo is looking for a Data Science Manager to lead its Financial Crime product area. You will work in an agile environment alongside Product, Risk and Engineering teams to shape the data strategy that protects customers and meets regulatory demands.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, engineers and Financial Crime control owners to define data‑driven solutions.
- Champion the use of data and analytics to improve detection, prevention and mitigation of financial crime.
- Lead, mentor and grow a cross‑functional team of Data Scientists, Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers.
- Hire new talent and support the professional development of existing team members.
- Drive product innovation by translating analytical insights into tangible product changes.
Required profile
- Proven leadership experience in data‑science or analytics teams.
- Hands‑on expertise in building and scaling data‑driven products.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of financial‑crime detection and regulatory environments.
