Job description
About the role
This is a data‑science position at a fast‑growing US FinTech scale‑up that is building a novel financial intelligence platform. The role is fully remote within Northern Ireland and focuses on designing and deploying models that turn messy enterprise data into actionable profit insights. You will work with Python, Google Cloud and large language models to shape core product functionality.
Key responsibilities
- Deconstruct and model customer datasets (ERP, GL, AR/AP, CRM, etc.) into structured analytical forms.
- Design profit‑intelligence frameworks covering cost allocation, margin analysis and unit economics.
- Build data pipelines and transformation logic using Python libraries such as Pandas, Polars and NumPy.
- Apply LLMs to map unknown data structures to canonical models and generate explainable financial insights.
- Collaborate with engineering to productionise models as scalable, API‑driven services.
- Continuously refine the platform’s financial ontology and underlying data models.
- Prototype new analytical capabilities rapidly and iterate based on real customer data.
Required profile
- Strong Python expertise, especially with Pandas, Polars and NumPy.
- Experience handling messy, real‑world enterprise data.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts such as P&L, cost structures, revenue recognition and unit economics.
- Ability to move fluidly between data exploration, model design and production thinking.
- Comfort operating without perfect specifications in a fast‑moving product environment.
- Desirable experience with LLM prompting, embeddings or inference workflows.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud services (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Vertex AI or similar).
- Knowledge of modern data architecture, batch/streaming pipelines and DAG‑based orchestration.
- Exposure to ERP or finance systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
