About the role
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Editor with a passion for travel and storytelling to help shape the editorial direction of two leading travel publications. The role spans print, digital and multimedia platforms and includes creating content, interviewing industry leaders, hosting podcasts and representing the business at international events.
Key responsibilities
- Research, write and edit engaging content for print, digital and social channels.
- Source exclusive news stories and interview senior figures across the travel industry.
- Commission and edit features from freelance writers and industry contributors.
- Support planning and production of magazines, websites, newsletters and digital content.
- Co‑host a regular industry podcast, sourcing guests and developing content ideas.
- Represent the business at UK and international events, conferences, trade shows and press trips.
- Present, host and moderate sessions at live events, conferences and awards.
- Create lifestyle, travel, destination and product features for consumer audiences.
- Produce and edit sponsored and branded content in collaboration with commercial clients.
- Lead editorial projects, supplements and special publications, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry contacts, PR agencies and key stakeholders.
- Deputise for senior editors, overseeing editorial planning and content delivery when required.
Required profile
- Previous editorial or journalism experience, ideally within travel, cruise, hospitality or B2B publishing.
- Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading abilities.
- Strong interviewing and networking skills.
- Experience producing content across print, digital, newsletters and social media.
- Confident presenter with an interest in podcasting or live events.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and experience with branded or sponsored content is an advantage.
- Proactive, creative approach and genuine passion for travel and the cruise industry.
