Deputy Head of Technology Department

About the role

The Ridgeway School and Sixth Form College, a large secondary school in Wroughton, is recruiting a Deputy Head of Department for Technology. The post is permanent, full time and all year round, with 32.5 hours and a salary of MPS - UPS. Applications are reviewed as received and the vacancy may close early.

Key responsibilities

• Help the Head of Department raise standards of student attainment and achievement across the department and monitor and support student progress.
• Assist the Head of Department in being accountable for student progress and development in the subject(s).
• Depute for the Head of Department.
• Support the development and enhancement of teaching practice throughout the department.
• Support a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum and ensure student provision matches the school's aims and the curricular policies set by the Governing Body and Leadership Team.
• Support the leadership, management and development of the Department.
• Support the Head of Department in managing and deploying teaching and support staff, financial and physical resources.

Required profile

• Experience of working with wood, metal and plastics.
• Ability to support the Head of Department and contribute to departmental leadership and curriculum delivery.
