Deputy Team Leader – Crisis Care Centre

About the role

The Deputy Team Leader will support the Operational Managers of the Crisis Care Centre (CCC) in North Staffordshire, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient delivery of a 24/7 mental health crisis service. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining high‑quality care for patients experiencing acute mental health crises.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Operational Managers in day‑to‑day service delivery for the All‑Age Access and Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team.
• Deputise for the Operational Manager as required, overseeing staff performance, patient flow, and resource allocation.
• Monitor service performance against commissioning requirements and Trust policies.
• Coordinate workforce planning, budgeting, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with clinicians, commissioners, and external partners to develop and sustain service standards.

Required profile

• Experienced mental health or operational practitioner with a solid understanding of clinical governance.
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven capacity to support staff, manage competing priorities, and uphold high standards of care.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NHS service delivery and quality‑improvement frameworks.
• Familiarity with performance monitoring and workforce coordination.
