Design Technology Teacher (SEMH) – 12‑week Temp‑to‑Perm

About the role

Spencer Clarke Group is partnering with a specialist SEMH provision in Eccles, Salford to recruit a Design Technology / Vocational Teacher. This 12‑week temp‑to‑perm position offers the chance to deliver hands‑on, project‑based learning to pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology and vocational lessons.
• Create practical, meaningful projects that build confidence and pride.
• Support pupils with SEMH needs through calm, consistent behaviour management.
• Build positive relationships with students who may display challenging behaviour.
• Collaborate closely with support staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders.
• Develop pupils' independence and employability‑focused skills.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Proven experience teaching Design Technology, construction, practical skills or similar vocational subjects.
• Strong understanding of SEMH, trauma‑informed practice and behaviour management.
• Ability to adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs.
• Creative approach to planning projects and practical lessons.
