Designated Safeguarding Lead – Post‑16 Specialist Provider

About the role
The Designated Safeguarding Lead will join a post‑16 specialist provider that delivers Maths, English, Music and Life Skills to young people. Working across multiple bases in Kent, you will ensure a safe, inclusive environment and uphold the highest safeguarding standards.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate safeguarding records in line with statutory guidance.
- Manage CPOMS data, conduct analysis and produce reports for senior leadership.
- Develop and review case studies for vulnerable students and ensure proper filing.
- Coordinate risk assessments, attendance records and related meetings.
- Support the Director of Safeguarding in policy updates and legislative compliance.
- Organise and minute safeguarding, case review and multi‑agency meetings.
- Prepare documentation for audits, inspections and reviews.
- Track staff training compliance and create safeguarding training resources.
Required profile
- Level 3 Safeguarding qualification.
- Experience working with young people, families with complex needs and SEND.
- Proven ability to liaise with external agencies.
- Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills.
- Strong risk‑assessment and vulnerability‑management experience.
- Knowledge of KCSIE, Working Together to Safeguard Children and related legislation.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
