Development Executive - Commercial Insurance

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Development Executive with deep expertise in commercial insurance to lead a new specialist proposition in Manchester. You will work with a fast‑growing independent brokerage, shaping market‑leading solutions for niche sectors such as construction, waste, logistics, cyber and high‑risk liability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and launch a specialist insurance proposition within a chosen niche sector.
• Generate leads through LinkedIn, introducers, partnerships, cold calling and marketing‑provided leads.
• Lead meetings with senior stakeholders, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to client transition.
• Deliver sales targets and growth for the dedicated sector.
• Represent the company at networking events and industry forums.
• Provide tailored risk‑management advice using tech‑enabled claims systems.
• Monitor performance against objectives, forecasts and budgets, reporting to the Sales Director.

Required profile

• Expert knowledge of the UK commercial insurance market.
• Proven track record of winning new commercial and corporate clients, preferably in construction, logistics, waste, cyber or high‑risk liability.
• CII certification (Level C or above) or equivalent.
• Strong time‑management, independent working and outcome‑focused attitude.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Existing book of business in a niche market is desirable but not essential.
