DevOps Engineer - Observability Platform
lseg
Job description
About the role
LSEG is hiring a DevOps Engineer to own the delivery pipeline and operational automation for its internal observability platform, a high-ownership role with direct impact on how the platform is built and delivered. The platform is initially deployed in Azure but is designed to be hosting-agnostic and portable, so delivery and infrastructure patterns must support future deployments on other clouds or on-premises. The role works closely with the Lead Engineer and SRE team.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines covering testing, validation, infrastructure provisioning and deployment.
- Implement and evolve GitOps workflows, including branching strategy, environment promotion, approval gates and rollback patterns.
- Supervise the health and performance of the delivery pipeline, using the observability platform where possible.
- Evaluate and introduce tooling improvements that increase deployment safety, pipeline reliability and developer experience.
- Manage infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, including module design, remote state management, environment separation and secrets handling.
- Operate container and orchestration infrastructure with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm, including stateful workloads such as ClickHouse and Redis.
- Manage secrets securely across pipelines and environments, keeping credentials out of version control and state files.
- Develop delivery and infrastructure patterns that work with Azure as the primary environment while remaining portable.
- Partner with the Lead Engineer on infrastructure decisions and with the SRE team on runbooks and recovery procedures.
- Maintain documentation for deployment processes, environment configuration and onboarding guides.
Required profile
- Experience crafting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines from commit to production.
- Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, including module design, state management and secrets handling.
- GitOps practices, including pull-request-driven deployments and version-controlled configuration.
- Cloud infrastructure experience with portable patterns, or on-premises Kubernetes experience.
- Clear communication with engineering and SRE teams about pipeline design, deployment state and operational risk.
Required skills
- Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
- Secrets management with HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault or equivalent
- Desirable: hands-on Azure, AWS or GCP, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ClickHouse, Cribl, and observability instrumentation of pipelines and infrastructure
