Director, FX Product

About the role

Barclays is recruiting a Director, FX Product in its London Payments business, within Product Development & Management. The role develops and manages the success of specific financial products and services, giving in-depth expertise on a particular product line and bridging product development, marketing, sales and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide subject-matter expertise on products and services to customers and colleagues, covering features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance.
• Identify market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, analyse sales and customer feedback data, and share findings with stakeholders to improve product offerings.
• Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues and give guidance on product usage.
• Promote the product to potential customers and help develop marketing materials such as brochures, presentations and online content.
• Take part in training, workshops, events and conferences to share product knowledge and generate interest.
• Manage a business function, contribute to and influence policy and procedures, and lead or advise on complex strategic projects.
• Lead a large team or sub-function, or act as a deep technical expert and thought leader, coaching less experienced specialists.
• Advise senior management and committees, manage resourcing and budgeting for a sub-function, and foster compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Act as principal contact and spokesperson for the function, and negotiate with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Ability to manage a business function and lead a large team or sub-function, or to lead organisation-wide projects as a technical expert.
• Extensive knowledge of how the function fits into the division and Group, and of industry theory and practice.
• Advanced analytical skills, management authority to make significant decisions, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Legal right to work in the UK; the role may be subject to enhanced governance and additional regulatory and compliance obligations.
