Director of Strategic Asset Management

About the role

Goodman Masson, in partnership with Moat Homes, is seeking a Director of Strategic Asset Management to lead the long‑term asset strategy, investment planning and sustainability programmes across its housing portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Director of Existing Homes, you will shape how assets are managed, optimised and delivered to meet regulatory, quality and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement 30‑year, 10‑15‑year and 1‑5‑year asset strategies aligned with Moat’s overall objectives.
• Lead portfolio modelling, investment proposals and stock rationalisation for the Investment Committee and Board.
• Oversee major works, retrofit and sustainability programmes, ensuring delivery against budgets, timescales and KPIs.
• Drive commercial procurement, contract management and cost control for major works and investment programmes.
• Maintain accurate asset management databases, collect reliable data and produce KPI reports for senior leadership and external audits.
• Manage financial performance, budgetary controls and identify grant opportunities to maximise investment capacity.
• Lead and develop the Strategic Asset Management team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Build relationships with senior leadership, customers, contractors, local authorities, regulators and auditors.

Required profile

• Significant senior leadership experience within social housing asset management.
• Strong understanding of housing quality standards, building safety, sustainability and net‑zero requirements.
